Beef Share
A beef share is one of the most economical and rewarding ways to purchase premium Akaushi beef directly from the farm. Rather than purchasing individual cuts throughout the year, you reserve a portion of one of our cattle before processing. We offer whole, half, and quarter beef shares to fit a variety of household sizes and freezer space.
Each share is professionally processed and custom cut to your preferences, allowing you to choose the thickness of your steaks, the size of your roasts, and how you'd like your ground beef packaged. Your freezer will be stocked with a wide variety of premium cuts, including steaks, roasts, ground beef, ribs, soup bones, and more.
Purchasing a beef share also gives you access to specialty cuts that are often unavailable through our retail inventory, including Tenderloin Roast, Bone-In Prime Rib, brisket, beef organs, marrow bones, and other chef-quality selections.
Because each animal is reserved in advance, beef shares require a reservation and deposit. Once your reservation is confirmed, we'll guide you through the cutting instructions and keep you informed throughout the processing timeline.
Why Purchase a Beef Share?
Exceptional Quality
When you purchase a beef share, every cut comes from the same carefully raised Akaushi animal, providing exceptional consistency in flavor, tenderness, and marbling. Unlike buying individual cuts over time, you'll enjoy the same premium eating experience from your first steak to your last roast. Better yet, your share is custom cut to your family's preferences—from steak thickness and roast sizes to specialty cuts and ground beef packaging.
Food Security & Knowing Your Farmer
A beef share is an investment in your family's food supply. Your freezer will be stocked with locally raised, premium beef that can feed your household for months, reducing trips to the grocery store and providing peace of mind during periods of rising food costs or supply shortages. Most importantly, you'll know exactly where your food came from, how it was raised, and the family who produced it.
Convenience
Imagine having a freezer stocked with premium Akaushi beef whenever you need it. Whether it's ground beef for a quick weeknight meal or beautiful Ribeyes for entertaining friends, dinner is always within reach. Your beef is professionally packaged, flash-frozen at peak freshness, and ready whenever you are.
Outstanding Value
Although a beef share requires an upfront investment, it offers excellent long-term value. By purchasing directly from the farm, you'll receive premium Akaushi beef at a lower cost per pound than buying comparable retail cuts individually. You'll also gain access to specialty cuts that are rarely available in our farm store while enjoying the consistency, quality, and transparency that only buying directly from your farmer can provide.
Beef Share Pricing
Our beef shares are priced by the pound based on the animal's hanging weight (the weight after harvest and before the beef is dry-aged and custom processed). For reference, a finished Villacaro Farms Akaushi steer typically has a hanging weight of 900–1,000 pounds.
The pricing and estimated totals shown below are intended to help you plan your investment. Your final balance is calculated using the actual hanging weight of your animal and may vary slightly depending on its size and any changes to USDA processing fees.
Your estimated share price includes:
Your custom-cut Akaushi beef share
A 21–28 day dry-aging process to enhance tenderness and flavor
USDA-inspected processing at our Certified Humane butcher
Professional vacuum packaging and labeling
A reservation and deposit are required to secure your share. Once your animal is scheduled for processing, we'll guide you through the custom cutting process and provide an estimated pickup timeline.
Complimentary on-farm pickup is included with every beef share. Home delivery may be available for an additional fee—please contact us for a custom delivery quote.
